I made this cream and lotion for a friend of mine who suffers from eczema and was told that it gives great relief. Distilled Water (L) Apricot Oil (F) Hempseed Oil (F) Borage Seed Oil (F) Vitamin E (F) Shea Butter (F) Beeswax (T) & Borax Vegetable Emulsifying Wax (T) Xanthan Gum (T) Stearic Acid (T) Aloe Vera Honey Lavender, Chamomile, Geranium, and Sandalwood Essential Oils The amount of each ingredient used was based on the 60-30-10 scale: 60% Water / Liquids (L) 30% Fats (F) 10% Thickeners (T) This formula is great as a cream or lotion. For the lotion, just use a little bit more Distilled Water or less of the Thickeners.

Hi Sarah, if you go to the ingredients site, you can see the percentage that can be used for each ingredient. Then use the 60 - 30 - 10 scale to calculate how much you will need. As for a substitute for xanthan gum, I am not sure but you do not really need it. Your cream will come out great even if you leave it out.
